The Government of the Czech Republic offers a grant of scholarships
for the academic year 2012/2013 to the Federal Democratic Republic of
Ethiopia, and the Republic of Rwanda. The offer has been officially
communicated to the respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs. The
scholarship is open for both graduate and undergraduate studies. There
are seven (7) scholarships in Czech language and four (4) in English
language. Details are below.

1. Study Programs in the Czech language:
- BA (Bachelor’s degree programs): 3-4 years
- MA/MSc (Master’s degree programs): 4-6 years
- PhD (Doctoral degree programs): 3-4 years;
- Ethiopia – geology, forestry, medicine, economics, agriculture, shoemaking
- Rwanda – power engineering, economics (trade), agriculture/food-processing
- Follow-up MA/MSc (follow-up Master’s degree programs): 1-3 years
- PhD (Doctoral degree programs): 3-4 years;
- Field of Study: Ethiopia/Rwanda – agriculture, economics (trade), information technologies

- All applicants are required to fill online an electronic Application Form.
An application for a scholarship of the Government of the CR can only
be submitted through a Diplomatic Mission of the Czech Republic in Addis
Ababa. This is for those from Rwanda and Ethiopia.
- The Czech embassy in Addis Ababa is located at: Kirkos Kifle Ketema, Kebele 15, House No. 289 (between the Hotel Ethiopia and the Federal Police Station ( formerCustom´s Authority). Email them for guidance about the form via: addisabeba@embassy.mzv.cz
- Applicants
successful in the first round will be consequently contacted by the
Embassy to participate in the second round of the selection process (sit
for entrance test, interview, English language test for students who
wish to study in English), as well as to present personal documentation
(see Instructions) including originals of the following personal and
educational documents duly authenticatedby the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respected countries:
- Birth certificate
- University Diploma or Secondary Education Certificate
- Student Academic Record
- The complete application files will be then forwarded to the Czech Republic. Scholarships will be awarded based on a decision of a joint commission of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education, Youth and Sports.
- The applicants will be notified by the Embassy whether the scholarship is awarded or not in June 2013.
