2014-2015 London Business School International MBA Scholarships in London



London Business School is offering a wide range of scholarships open to all applicants irrespective of their nationalities, the majority of which are available to successful applicants who apply in Stages 1, 2 and 3 of the MBA programme for the 2014-2015 academic session. You will be given more information on how to apply for the scholarships when you receive you are offered admission. The international MBA scholarships are aimed at supporting excellent applicants to study at the LBS.

Purpose of the MBA
The London Business School MBA is designed for those looking to take their career to the next level. Choose our MBA if you’re seeking:

Available Scholarships
Some of the available scholarships for international students include the following:

(i) The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Scholarship for Sub-Saharan Africa. The scholarship is sponsored by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, and is open to all successful MBA applicants who are nationals of sub-Saharan Africa. Recipients of the award are expected to contribute to the School’s marketing efforts in the region. There are two awards, which cover full fees. Candidates who apply in Stages 1, 2 or 3 and receive an offer for the class of MBA2015 will be automatically considered for this award

(ii) Women in Business Club Scholarships. The scholarship is open to all successful female MBA applicants. The aim of the scholarship is to support female candidates of merit and to help increase the number of women joining the London Business School.  More broadly the scholarship seeks to encourage an increase in women considering a management career within the business sector

(iii) Bank of America Merrill Lynch Scholarship. The scholarship is funded by the Bank of America Corporation and Merrill Lynch & Co. It is open to all successful MBA applicants interested in the financial services industry

(iv) London Business School Annual Scholarship: The scholarship is funded by the London Business School, and is open to all successful MBA applicants who have clear academic and professional merit and can demonstrate the ability to contribute to all aspects of the MBA programme. Multiple awards of varying amounts, up to £20,000 are offered annually. Candidates who apply in Stages 1, 2 or 3 and receive an offer for the class of MBA2015 will be automatically considered for these awards.

(v) Vodafone Group Foundation Scholarships – The Sir Christopher Gent Awards: The scholarship is funded by the Vodafone Group Foundation, and it open to residents of Albania, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, UK, Egypt, Qatar, New Zealand, Australia, India, Fiji, USA, Ghana, South Africa, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Kenya. Four scholarships worth £20,000 each will be awarded. Candidates who apply in Stages 1, 2 or 3 and receive an offer for the class of MBA2015 will be automatically considered for these awards

Eligibility
  • Educational background: You should have a good undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification. If you do not have a degree we may still consider your application if you have worked in a position with a high level of responsibility
  • Work experience: Our current MBA students have on average 5.7 years of postgraduate work experience and a good performance record. The range of work experience within the class is between 2 and 15 years. If you have less than three years’ work experience you will need to show superior academic credentials or evidence of outstanding performance.
  • Personal motivation and maturity: You must be reflective, energetic, mature and realistic as well as ambitious and highly motivated
  • Team skills: We place particular emphasis on working in multicultural groups. You must be able to aid the development of your fellow students and contribute to the learning environment of the School.
  • International exposure: Our MBA attracts students from around 60 countries. We select students with an international outlook, and/or those who can build on existing international exposure.
How to Apply
You have to first apply for admission before applying for scholarships. In most cases, you are automatically considered for a scholarship once you are accepted into the programme.
Applicants are submitted online.
When you complete your online application form, you will be asked to attach:
  • your application essays
  • a one-page CV/resume
  • names and details of two referees
  • copies of your university transcript
You also need to arrange for them to receive:
  • your GMAT score (you should also attach your official test taker copy of your GMAT score to your application)
  • proof of your English Language ability
  • your application fee of £175
  • an original transcript of grades from each university you have attended if you are made an offer
Deadlines: To be considered for scholarships, you are advised to apply within one of the following deadlines:

Stage 1: October 4, 2013;

Stage 2: January 3, 2014;

Stage 3: February 28, 2014
