Mo Ibrahim MBA Scholarships at London Business School for Sub-Saharan Africans

Scholarship Description: Talented individuals from sub-Saharan African can acquire the management and leadership skills essential for individual, corporate and national success.
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Scholarship for sub-Saharan Africa aims to help produce exceptional leaders for the continent by supporting outstanding students on the full-time MBA Programme at London Business School.

Eligibility: This MBA scholarship award is open to all successful MBA applicants who are nationals of sub-Saharan Africa.
It will be awarded to exceptional MBA candidates from sub-Saharan Africa with financial need. Recipients of the award are expected to contribute to the School’s marketing efforts in the region.

Eligible groups: Citizens of sub-Saharan Africa are welcome to apply.
These would include nationals of the following countries: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Democratic Republic), Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Western Sahara, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Field of study: Masters Level Courses in Business Administration (MBA).
The London Business School MBA is a full-time programme with exit points at 15, 18 and 21 months.


Number of awards: Each year, two scholarships will be awarded to successful sub-Saharan applicants.


Sponsorship duration: This is a FULL tuition fee award


Scholarship benefits: There will be FULL payment of fees for the recipients only.
In 2012, the Foundation awarded the successful recipient, for fees and living expenses, an amount totaling up to £50,000.

Method of Application: Applicants who wish to apply to the MBA programme may do so before any of the four (4) MBA application deadline dates. Please see the dates below.
Candidates who apply in Stages 1, 2 or 3 and receive an offer for the class of MBA2015 will be automatically considered for this award.

DEADLINES: There are four different deadline date cycles that run throughout the year at the London Business School. For the current year i.e. 2013/2014, the deadlines will be as follows:

Stage 1 — 4 October, 2013
Stage 2 — 3 January, 2014
Stage 3 — 28 February, 2014
Stage 4 — 16 April 2014.
